Grace in the Wilderness respects your privacy, and this page explains exactly what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Last updated: September 30, 2026.
Who we are
Grace in the Wilderness (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a Christian recovery ministry website found at graceinthewilderness.co. It is run by Kait, the founder. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at hello@graceinthewilderness.co.
Information we collect
We only collect what you choose to give us, plus a small amount of technical data your browser shares automatically.
- Newsletter signup: your name and email address when you subscribe to Field Notes.
- Contact form: your name, email address, the topic you choose, and the message you write, including any prayer request.
- Technical data: your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and the time of your visit. This is collected automatically through cookies and similar tools (see “Cookies and analytics” below).
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, payment information, Social Security numbers, or medical records through this website.
How we use your information
We use what you share only for these purposes:
- To send you the Field Notes newsletter, which goes out weekly.
- To reply to your messages and questions.
- To pray for you, if you submit a prayer request.
- To keep the website working, secure, and understandable (for example, seeing which pages are read most).
We do not sell your information, rent it, or trade it.
Newsletter
When you subscribe, your name and email address are stored with our email service provider, Titan. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us at hello@graceinthewilderness.co and we will remove you promptly.
Prayer requests and sensitive information
Because this is a recovery ministry, you may share personal or sensitive things with us, and we take that seriously.
- Prayer requests and messages are read only by Kait.
- We do not share your prayer request, name, or story publicly or with anyone else without your clear permission.
- Messages sent through the contact form are delivered to our email inbox and stored in our website’s form system. Email is not perfectly private, so please share only what you are comfortable sending this way.
- You can ask us at any time to delete your message and your information.
Grace in the Wilderness is not a licensed counseling, medical, or treatment service. If you are in crisis or in danger, please call or text 988 (in the U.S.) or contact local emergency services right away.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files your browser stores that help a website work. This site uses:
- Essential cookies, which keep the site and forms working.
- Performance tools, such as Jetpack, which help deliver images quickly and may collect basic, aggregated visit statistics
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site will still work, though some features may be limited.
Third-party services
We rely on a few trusted services to run this website. Each has its own privacy policy, and they handle data only to provide their service to us:
- WordPress hosting (Bluehost) stores the website and its data.
- WPForms processes our newsletter and contact forms.
- Titan sends the newsletter.
- Jetpack / WordPress.com delivers images and site features.
- YouTube, Instagram, and Pinterest are linked from this site. If you click through or watch an embedded video, those platforms may collect data under their own policies.
Sharing your information
We share personal information only in these limited situations: with the service providers listed above so they can do their job, if required by law, or with your clear permission. We never sell your information.
How long we keep it
We keep newsletter subscriber information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We keep contact form messages only as long as needed to respond and follow up, and then delete them within 12 months.
How we protect it
The site uses HTTPS encryption, and access to our website and email accounts is limited and password protected. No website or email system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
- Correct or update it.
- Delete it.
- Stop sending you the newsletter.
Email hello@graceinthewilderness.co and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example, California or the European Union), you may have additional legal rights over your data, and we will honor them.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will also let newsletter subscribers know.
